In the summer of 2024, a regular tourist route will be established between the Irkutsk and Buryat shores of Lake Baikal. The service will be operated on high-speed catamarans with a capacity of 148 passengers.
Three test runs have already been completed in July and August of this year. The East Siberian River Shipping Company, which owns the catamarans, also plans to launch a cruise ship on Lake Baikal. It is scheduled to begin sailing in 2026.
