Altai Nature Reserve staff report that the maralnik (Rhododendron dauricum) is blooming again near Lake Teletskoye in early October. The purple flowers of the maralnik, covering the slopes, are one of the most beautiful sights in Altai in May, but it turns out that secondary blooms in summer and fall are also not uncommon. For example, maralnik bloomed in the Chulyshman Valley in October 2022.
