Iturup is the largest of the Kuril Islands. Here are the top 5 of its main locations:
White Rocks. Unusual snow-white cliffs of pumice and volcanic glass stretch like a wall along the Sea of Okhotsk. Yankito Plateau. A lava plateau – like an otherworldly landscape! Kasatka Bay. A bay on the island's Pacific coast with mirror-like waters, bizarrely shaped cliffs, and a complex history. Baransky Volcano. One of the most easily accessible active volcanoes on Iturup. Fumaroles, mud pots, acidic lakes of incredible shades, and thermal springs at the foot. Waterfalls of Parusnaya Bay. Maiden's Tears and Maiden's Braids waterfalls are small, but located in an incredibly picturesque place with rich flora and fauna.
