The northern lights season runs from late August to early April. They appear at latitudes around 67–70°, and our country offers plenty of suitable locations for aurora hunters. Here are the best ones:

Khibiny, Kola Peninsula . The polar night here lasts 42 days, so the chances of catching the aurora are increased.

Krasnoyarsk Krai. If you prefer to hunt for the aurora borealis in Siberia, the best places to go are Dudinka or Khatanga. The aurora is also visible on the remote Putorana .

Karelia . The Northern Lights can be seen in the region's capital, Petrozavodsk. However, to avoid city lights, it's better to travel to less populated areas, such as the Kostomuksha area or Paanajärvi National Park.
