Alien landscapes of amazing reddish shades in Altai are Kyzylchin, which can be translated as “Red Gorge” or “Ditch in the Gorge.”

The local slopes acquired their unusual colors due to their special mineral composition: iron oxides give the color red, chromium gives it yellow, and manganese gives pink and purple hues.

This palette looks like alternating horizontal stripes.

Each of their layers reflects a separate stage in the formation of the area, because in different periods external factors influenced the chemical composition and color of the clay in different ways. And the wind and melt water completed the work on nature’s masterpiece, forming bizarre grooves and winding ravines. Group tours to Altai can be found here . Individual tours - here .
