The name "Dagestan" means "Country of Mountains".

Sulak Canyon
A must for anyone visiting Dagestan, the most recognizable sight in the region.
This canyon is the second deepest in the world and the largest in Europe, famous for its fantastic views. Along the bottom of the canyon, meandering between striped rocks and greenery, flows the turquoise Sulak River. Chirkey Reservoir
