Meet the sunrise before anyone else in the country and watch the sunset on the seashore, see stone arches and a ghost lighthouse created by the wind and waves, feel the flight with your feet firmly on the ground, touch a rock that is 70 million years old, and spend a day on the famous gastronomic island ... This is an incredibly rich tour with impressions and emotions that will allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Sakhalin.
Sakhalin is like a treasure box, where beautiful, valuable and such diverse pearls of nature are collected! On this tour you will see all the most famous and fascinating of these treasures, many of which have become symbols of the island. You will visit two Japanese-built lighthouses: the famous Aniva lighthouse, which emanates mysticism, and the Slepikovsky lighthouse, located on the only sandy beach on Sakhalin. You can take a break from the hustle and bustle, being left alone with nature during an excursion to Tikhaya Bay or on a walk between Capes Ptichy and Velikan with their amazing stone arches. You will try to hear the whistle of the Japanese ghost locomotive, which, according to legend, is still heard on the abandoned railway near the Devil's Bridge. You will collect amber on the sea coast and admire the incredible color of the Turquoise Lakes, walk through the Torii Gate, make a secret wish, and sit on a rock that is tens of millions of years old.
Mysteries and legends, creations of human hands and fantastic landscapes, green slopes and steep cliffs, Japanese heritage and tragic pages of history - Sakhalin is many-sided and amazing. But, of course, people also come here for the freshest seafood delicacies. And you will have the opportunity to enjoy them to the fullest, because one day we will go to the gastronomic Lake Busse, where a delicious lunch and a master class on eating oysters awaits you. You can also take edible goodies from Sakhalin with you: on the last day, on the way to the airport, we will make a stop at the fish market.
*You can choose a hotel that suits your level of comfort. Please note: the final cost of the tour depends on the location.
A cozy and modern hotel in the tourist center of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, just 300 meters from Victory Square. The rooms have everything you need: satellite TV, toilet room with shower, disposable slippers, bath amenities. Guests especially appreciate the pleasant, light-filled common lounge areas and delicious, hearty breakfasts.
A beautiful, stylish hotel in a park area of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, just a 15-minute drive from the airport. The interior is decorated in a combination of European and Japanese styles, reflecting the eclectic architecture of the city itself. On the hotel territory and inside, in the common areas, there is an abundance of greenery and flowers, and the rooms are equipped with everything you need. Responsive staff will make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The hotel is located opposite a picturesque park area, it has its own spa, sauna and several restaurants where you can enjoy Japanese, Asian, Serbian and international cuisine. Elegant, spacious rooms are decorated in light colors and have everything for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Rooms on the upper floors offer panoramic views of the hills surrounding Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in is at 14:00, after which you will have an hour to rest and change clothes. At 15:00 we go on a tour of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - an amazing city, where traces of the Japanese period of the island’s life are visible everywhere, surprisingly harmoniously woven into modern architecture. You will see the Victory Memorial Complex and the temple with the largest outdoor mosaic in the world, and also visit the Museum of Local Lore, located in a Japanese building built in 1937. You can also enjoy panoramic views of the region's capital by going up to the observation deck.
Today we will head to Tikhaya Bay - this picturesque place is included in the ratings of the most beautiful beaches in our country. Along the way we will have several stops in interesting locations where you can take great photos. You will walk along the sea coast, collecting amber; you will see the elegant Torii Gate - the symbolic entrance to the Shinto shrine, located in the village of Vzmorye; visit one of the highest (and according to some sources, the highest) waterfalls of the island, Klokovsky. We will also stop at a fishing village, where you will have the opportunity to stroll through the crab market and buy seafood delicacies. Finally we will reach Tikhaya Bay, reliably sheltered from the sea winds. Here we will have lunch with a beautiful view of the bay and take a walk.
The mysterious Aniva lighthouse, which rises on the rocky cape of the same name, is one of the most interesting and fascinating locations in Sakhalin. It was built by the Japanese in 1939, but was finally abandoned in 2006, and has since been gradually destroyed by winds and waves. This is a mysterious, but a little sad sight, where you can take dozens of successful shots. You can also climb to the top floor of the lighthouse to see a panoramic view of the surrounding area. During this trip we will also visit Cape Mramorny and Cape White Stone - less famous than Aniva, but complementing the picture of the unique and inimitable Sakhalin nature. Return to the city by 16:00, free time.
On this day we will see two natural attractions of Sakhalin. Turquoise Lakes are 20 reservoirs formed on the site of an abandoned quarry. Due to the presence of sulfite in the water, these reservoirs have an unusual, rich color. The surrounding nature makes it difficult to guess that coal and germanium-bearing ore were once mined here - the surrounding slopes are overgrown with greenery that sets off the turquoise water. After visiting the lakes we will arrive at Cape Eustathia. This is a very low cape, but the features of the relief create an indescribable feeling of flight, and there are beautiful views all around. Here we will have lunch and take a two-hour quiet walk along the coast.
Today you will see how the wonderful Sakhalin nature is combined with the creations of human hands - we will visit the lighthouse and bridge. First, our path lies to Cape Slepikovsky, which is interesting because the only sandy beach on Sakhalin is located here. The black volcanic sands provide the perfect backdrop for photographs and for relaxing while looking out over the sea and enjoying the light breeze. The Slepikovsky lighthouse also stands here - just like Aniva, it was built by the Japanese. After having lunch in a cafe, we will take the train to the Devil's Bridge, a span of the railway buried in greenery (this line is currently closed). Once again, lots of beautiful photographs, as well as local legends and stories from the guide.
It’s impossible to imagine traveling around Sakhalin without the freshest seafood! Therefore, today we are heading to the main gastronomic location of the island - Lake Busse. Oysters and scallops, sea urchins and mussels, as well as fish of the salmon family live here. During the tour, you will take a walk around the lake and see the oyster bank - a shallow area inhabited by these sea creatures. Upon returning to the shore, you will have a hot lunch in a tent overlooking the water surface and a master class on eating oysters. In the afternoon - return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
It's time to visit the cape, the photos of which you certainly looked at when planning your trip! These are amazing stone arches rising from the foaming sea water - Cape Giant, the calling card of Sakhalin. We will reach Cape Bird, which is also interesting for its bizarrely shaped rocks, grottoes and caves where flocks of birds nest. From here along the coast, looking at the surrounding slopes and enjoying the measured sound of the waves, we will take a leisurely walk to the Giant. Local landscapes are a wonderful backdrop for both stunning shots and calm, almost meditative contemplation of nature. We will stay in the area of capes Ptichy and Velikan from 11 to 16, and have lunch here. At 16 we leave back to the city.
Sakhalin is not just a picturesque island, but also, according to many, a place of power. After all, here, among the numerous wonders of nature, ancient, mysterious and legendary locations lurk. On the eighth day of the tour, you will go to one of these places - the Frog Remnant, a rock that is 70 million years old! Now the rock rises above endless green spaces, virgin Sakhalin forests and low hills. But once upon a time there were mountain ranges in this place. They were destroyed by the elements, but the remains were preserved. It’s interesting to even touch it, because it’s not every day that you have the opportunity to be close to a stone that is tens of millions of years old! In addition, the cliff offers a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding area.
Before transferring to the airport, it’s time to choose hotels and gifts for your loved ones and as a keepsake!
I want to bring as many delicacies as possible from Sakhalin: the freshest seafood, real Japanese sweets, red caviar or the completely exotic, but extremely healthy klopovka syrup. We will visit markets and shops so that you have the opportunity to purchase whatever you want. Your purchases will be securely packaged so nothing will happen to them during the flight. See you again!
The program is suitable for children over 10 years old.
The price does not include air tickets from your city to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and back. You also pay for your own dinners.
You can choose the accommodation option that suits you - from 2 to 4 stars. Please note: the final cost of the tour will depend on this. You can also contact us if you want to stay at a recreation center or hotel not listed in the tour program. If there are available seats on your travel dates, we will book it for you and calculate a personal cost!
From clothes: comfortable pants (can be sports), comfortable shoes (can be trekking), since we will be walking a lot. Bring a windbreaker and a hat - strong winds often blow on the shore. You will also need insect repellent, sunscreen and glasses. Don't forget personal medications if you need them.
