Tour route

More details about the route

Day 1. Getting to know the region, Olonets and Kindasovo

Early in the morning we leave St. Petersburg. Along the way, your guide will tell you a fascinating story about the history of Karelia, a region where cultures, beliefs and destinies of peoples are intertwined. Having made a stop at a farm, where you can refresh yourself and buy coffee or pastries for the road, by 12:00 we will arrive at the Alexander-Svirsky Monastery. The 16th-century architectural complex is located on the border of Karelia and played an important role in the spread of Russian culture and Orthodoxy to the lands of indigenous peoples. After the tour of the monastery - lunch. The next stop is Olonets, the first city in Karelia, where in the interactive museum of Livvik Karelians you can literally touch the life of Ancient Rus' and even play ancient musical instruments. Towards evening we will visit the most cheerful Karelian village of Kindasovo. You will take part in an interactive program, learn the meaning of the unusual words “piirileiki” and “jouhikko”, and taste delicious traditional homemade pastries. At 21:00 we will arrive in Petrozavodsk, where you will check into a hotel and can take a break from a day full of emotions.

Day 2. Entertainment to choose from: from rafting to husky

On the second day, you can decide for yourself what to do.
We offer several interesting options: 1. Rafting along Shuya.
8 kilometers of whitewater and overcoming three rapids! Since these are rapids of 1-2 difficulty categories, rafting is suitable even for beginners. 2. Jeep tour to the village of Manga.
This is not a standard excursion, because you will be behind the wheel of powerful SUVs (of course, after detailed instructions). Forest, crossing rivers, deep ruts - an unforgettable off-road driving experience. On the way, we will make a stop at a forest lake, where we will grill shish kebab on coals, and explore several abandoned historical villages with beautiful preserved buildings. 3. Canoeing on Lake Beloye.
A more relaxed but very interesting experience! The canoe trip will take place on Lake Beloye in Karjala Park. Calm water surface, unity with northern nature and the opportunity to swim in the invigoratingly cool waters of the lake (depending on the season). 4. Trekking with a husky.
Another entertainment option in Karjala Park. You will visit the kennel, where you will meet friendly, cute and active dogs, and then go trekking with them through a picturesque forest area along Shuya. 5. ATVs. For those who dream of conquering off-road terrain! You will receive detailed instructions and a short training course on driving ATVs, and then go on a ride through a picturesque pine forest.

Day 3. Akhvenkoski, Ruskeala and return home

After breakfast at the hotel, we say goodbye to Petrozavodsk and head to the amazing Akhvenkoski waterfalls. Low, but swift and stormy, these waterfalls are interesting primarily for the mysterious beauty of the surrounding nature and hanging wooden bridges thrown over the stormy waters. Here you can walk along the eco-path among the wooden figures of fairy-tale characters from the Karelian epic and take dozens of atmospheric shots on the bridges. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Ruskeala mountain park. Its central attraction is the Marble Canyon, from where stone was once mined to decorate the famous buildings of St. Petersburg. For example, the window sills of the Hermitage are made from local marble, and St. Isaac’s Cathedral is decorated with it. A short excursion with a guide awaits you, and you can spend the remaining time in the park as you wish: just take a walk, have a snack, buy souvenirs, get an adrenaline rush on the trolley track above the canyon. You can leave the park on the legendary retro train or by bus. On the way back to St. Petersburg we will make a stop at a trout farm store. Arrival in the city by 23:30.
