A journey that will fill you with inspiration and harmony: winding streets of ancient villages, impregnable mountain fortresses, deep gorges, majestic mosques, gastronomic discoveries and endless mountain panoramas. The program includes the most famous natural locations of the region and the most important sights for its history.
Dagestan is diverse and beautiful; it is impossible to include all its beauty in a 4-day trip. But we have compiled the tour program in such a way that you have a chance to see all the most interesting and amazing things. “Caucasian Impromptu” is ideal for getting to know the region for the first time, immersing yourself in its atmosphere and visiting the most famous locations. You will explore two of the most important cities of Dagestan - the contrasting capital Makhachkala and ancient Derbent with its narrow streets and the impressive Naryn-Kala citadel. You will be able to ride along the azure waters of the Chirkey Reservoir on a boat and visit the Dubki observation deck, which offers the most impressive panorama of the Sulak Canyon. You will also visit the Noho cave complex and the Lun ekranoplane, the appearance of which among the sands resembles a scene from a Soviet science fiction film. And, of course, during the trip you will taste delicious local cuisine: shish kebab, trout baked on coals, khinkal, miracle and much more.
Everyone has different hobbies and preferences, so we leave it to you to transform your tour. The third day of the trip is free, and you can choose any one-day excursion to your taste. Visit the high-mountain ghost village of Gamsutl, visit the watchtowers of Goor, take a walk through the village of Gunib, famous for its unique microclimate, rich history and pink relict birches, go to the Khunzakh plateau... Or just relax on the Derbent beach!

The hotel is located literally a few minutes walk from the center of the capital, close to the main attractions of Makhachkala and on the second line from the coast of the Caspian Sea. This is a good hotel in a neutral classic style. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the complex. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay; there is also a restaurant serving European cuisine.

Laconic and ergonomic rooms are decorated in light colors, each of them has air conditioning, hairdryer, refrigerator, iron, TV, tea/coffee station. The front desk is open 24 hours a day. Free Wi-Fi is available on site. The restaurant serves buffet breakfast to all guests.
The guide will meet you at the airport or train station in Makhachkala. After the group gathers, we immediately go for lunch so that from the first hours of our stay in Dagestan we can appreciate the famous Caucasian hospitality and taste the delicious Dagestan cuisine. Then you will have a sightseeing tour of Makhachkala. Let's soak in the amazing atmosphere of the city, where history intertwines with modernity. You will take a relaxing walk along the beach and embankment along the Rhodope Boulevard, a favorite place for meetings and recreation for city residents. Since the culture of Dagestan is closely connected with religion, we will also visit the central mosque of the city, Yusuf Bey Jami. It is one of the largest mosques in Europe and the second largest in Russia, second only to the Chechen “Pride of Muslims” mosque. You can also take a look at Makhachkala from above by climbing to the observation deck on Mount Tarki.
We leave the capital and go to explore the beautiful nature of the Land of Mountains (this is how the name “Dagestan” is translated). First of all, we will visit the largest reservoir in the North Caucasus - Chirkey. It was formed as a result of the construction of a dam, during which the village of Old Chirkey was flooded. Even today it rests peacefully under turquoise waters, surrounded by mountain slopes. You can take a speedboat ride around the reservoir (please note: the boat ride is not included in the tour price). Then we go to the most famous location in the region - the deepest and fantastically beautiful Sulak Canyon. We will make a stop at the best observation deck so that you can take a look at the bends of the Sulak River, flowing at the bottom of the canyon among the steep cliffs. Afterwards you will visit the Noho cave complex. Those interested can go down into the adits or take a bungee jump. On this day we will have lunch at the Trout Farm, where you will enjoy aromatic fish cooked over coals. In the afternoon we drive to Derbent, where you will check into a hotel.
A free day, the program of which you can create yourself. The most popular destinations are the Khunzakh plateau, the legendary ghost village of Gamsutl, the beautiful villages of Gunib and Kakhib, the famous watchtowers of Goor, and the ancient village of Akhty. You can also stay in Derbent to walk around the most ancient city of our country or relax on the beach. Please note: any activities and excursions on this day are not included in the tour price.
On the last day of the tour you will see two equally memorable, but very different in their atmosphere, sights of Dagestan. While exploring Derbent with its fabulous magical flavor, we will visit the ancient Naryn-Kala fortress, the double walls of which are perfectly preserved and impressive even many centuries after construction. A walk through the winding old streets of Derbent will immerse you in the Middle Ages and introduce you to the life and history of this amazing city. You will also go to the Lun ekranoplane, located on the beach near the city of Kaspiysk. This is an unusual creation of Soviet engineering - a rocket ship, its shape reminiscent of an airplane. Surrounded by sands, it looks like a scene from a science fiction film. Also on the last day of the tour, we will visit souvenir shops so that you can buy gifts and gifts to remember the trip. In the evening we arrive in Makhachkala, transfer to the airport and railway station. See you again!
