About the tour

The Putorana plateau, inaccessible and almost untouched by man, is a lost world, a land of waterfalls, and the geographical center of Russia. We invite you to feel like pioneers and see the wonders of wild northern nature. And all this - without giving up comfort, with accommodation in a luxurious eco-hotel.

What's included in the program?

You will climb to the best viewing platforms of Mount Festivalnaya, walk along the edge of the famous Irkindinsky waterfall and admire the power of the Neralakh waterfall.

You will enjoy boat rides on Lake Lama, helicopter flights, and SUP rides surrounded by tranquil landscapes. On this journey, you will learn what the “gendarme” of the mountain is, why an entire wooden palace in the shape of an airplane was built in the wilderness, why enthusiasts hunt for UFOs on the plateau, and how many unique types of moss can be distinguished in the colorful springy pattern underfoot. This is an intense, active and incredibly beautiful tour for those who are not afraid to find themselves far from civilization, explore the wilderness and walk not on the path trodden by thousands of tourists, but on barely noticeable, sometimes completely untrodden paths.

The Putorana Plateau is northern exoticism in all its glory. A land that can only be reached by water or air, where there is no communication and almost no people, will reward brave travelers with the most vivid impressions of their lives. A rainbow in the spray from waterfalls, deep canyons with steep cliffs, entire glades of delicious northern berries, 25 thousand lakes, mountains without peaks - all this is Putorana. Everyone will be able to choose the pace of exploration of the plateau that suits them: the most active and sporty ones will go on more difficult treks and conquer the peaks, and the “relaxation” group will enjoy adventures in a more relaxed mode, make many stops for amazing shots and visit more accessible (but not less beautiful!) observation platforms.

And, of course, each group will be able to enjoy their holiday in a luxurious park hotel: with all the amenities and delicious northern cuisine from the chef. You will not only explore the Putorana plateau, but also get acquainted with Norilsk and Dudinka.

You will learn first-hand what it is like to live in permafrost, communicate with a family of hereditary reindeer herders and find out why railings are installed in the arches between the houses. We invite you to join our trips to the most inaccessible and most picturesque place in Russia!

Tour route

More details about the route

Day 1. First look at the plateau

We meet at Norilsk airport. On the way to the city, you will begin to get acquainted with this amazing region; your guide will tell you a little about the history of the region. After breakfast in Norilsk, we take a boat to the plateau. The transfer will take 3.5 hours. We arrive at the Neralakh Park Hotel, check into cottages and have lunch. Afterwards you will have a simple trek to the best observation deck over Lake Lama - the central body of water of the entire plateau. Incredible panoramic views of the water surface, secluded pebble beaches, endless dense forests and rocky shores. During trekking, you will not only learn about the features of the Putorana landscape, but also try your hand at hiking. Based on the results of the first day, we will divide all travelers into two groups: “sport” - for the most active and physically fit, and “relaxation” - for those who want to move at a leisurely pace, take a lot of photographs and make frequent stops to enjoy the views.

Day 2. Mount Festivalnaya and the land of moss

We have breakfast and set off on the boats. The transfer to the start of today's trek will take only 30-40 minutes, during which you will be able to enjoy fantastic views of wild northern nature. We will arrive at the Kamenny Peninsula between lakes Lama and Kapchuk. From here the relaxation group will go on a quiet trek past two beautiful waterfalls to the best viewing platform above Lama, with a magnificent panoramic view of both lakes and Mount Festivalnaya. In this peaceful environment we will have lunch (lunch boxes). Afterwards we will have time for a walk along the isthmus, where many species of moss grow - such diversity is not found anywhere else on the planet, and many species are endemic. At this time, the sports group will climb to the highest platform of Mount Festivalnaya.

Day 3. Walk along the lake and free time

We rest after two active days. You will go on a boat trip, during which you will see many iconic locations on the plateau: the wintering place of Nikolai Urvantsev, the discoverer and compiler of maps of Putorana, the base of UVologists, the center of the Putorana Nature Reserve. And all this - surrounded by absolutely incredible landscapes and the special mysterious charm of northern nature. After lunch at the park hotel - free time. Choose how to spend it: take a walk around the hotel's surroundings, ride SUPs on Lake Lama, or bask in a hot sauna.

Day 4. Waterfalls and mesas

Today you will find the most difficult trekking, for which you will be rewarded with the most incredible views. The sports group will climb with a height gain of 1100 m. There are no beaten paths here, so you can feel like real discoverers of the plateau! The relaxation group will also go on a trek to the wonders of nature, walk along waterfalls, see from a height a deep canyon and the 22-meter Neralakh waterfall, which forms a noisy foam cauldron at the base. Natural power, infinity of table mountains, rocks and forest - no matter what group you are in, you will be able to fully enjoy the grandiose beauty of the Putorana plateau. We'll have a picnic in a picturesque place, take hundreds of incredible photos and return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 5. House on Lake Lama

Putorana is an uninhabited, wild region. However, lost in this wilderness is a masterpiece of wooden architecture - the First House on Lama. Today we will visit this building and find out its history: who built it and why, how the building was used at different times, why the nearest river was named Vitaminka and how did generals from Latvia end up on the plateau? After returning to the hotel and having lunch, we set off by ship to Norilsk. It’s too early to say goodbye to the plateau - you will visit it again tomorrow. Check-in at the hotel, dinner - on your own.

Day 6. Irkindinsky waterfall and acquaintance with Norilsk

After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a helicopter excursion to one of the most picturesque and famous waterfalls of the Putorana plateau.
A wall of water, divided into several branches, falls into the abyss from a height of 27 meters. The uniqueness of the waterfall is not only that it amazes with its power in any season, but also that you will have the opportunity to walk along the very edge of the cliff, feeling like a hero in the film “Territory” (the famous scene was filmed here). The surroundings of the waterfall are also interesting, home to the Putorana bighorn sheep and the white-tailed eagle - species that are found nowhere else on the planet. Armed with binoculars, let's try to spot them on the slopes of Mount Chaya-Kit. Upon returning to Norilsk, there will be a sightseeing tour of this amazing city - the first city in permafrost.

Day 7. Dudinka: the story of brave discoverers

After breakfast, we leave for Dudinka, the capital of Taimyr.
The city was founded in 1667 and was one of the most important points on the northern sea route, as well as the center of many polar expeditions. In Dudinka there is a street without a single house, the World Curling Cup was held here, you can see the baby mammoth Zhenya and read the only newspaper in the world published in five languages! In addition, the history of Dudinka is inextricably linked with the small nomadic peoples of the North. We will visit a local family, learn about the life of reindeer herders and their traditions, see the work of local craftsmen and get acquainted with national crafts. In the evening - transfer to Norilsk.

At 6:00 - transfer to the airport for the morning flight. See you again!
