Winter Altai is a real fairy tale! A magical kingdom of turquoise ice, fluffy snow and shaggy frost. In this wonderful atmosphere, you will get acquainted with the seven main attractions of the region: you will see Katun, drive along one of the most beautiful roads in the world, overcome picturesque passes, walk along the shores of Lake Teletskoye...
You will drive along the beautiful Chuysky tract, stopping at observation platforms of passes and at stormy foaming rapids.
You will see the Katun, not completely frozen by ice and shining with mesmerizing turquoise among the snow-covered shores. You will visit Swan Lake, where hundreds of beautiful birds winter, and a deer breeding farm, where you will get acquainted with deer and bison. In Chemal you will go on an excursion to the hydroelectric power station and walk along the wooden suspension bridge that leads to the sacred island of Patmos. You will also get to Teletskoye and take the cable car to the top of the mountain to enjoy a fabulous panorama of the lake and its surroundings. Although the history and traditions of the region are not the central theme of the trip, you will learn a little about them: traveling along the Chuysky tract, we will make a stop at rocks with petroglyphs, and on the way from Lake Teletskoye we will visit one of the indigenous peoples, the Tubalars.
This is a very intense tour, in which in 4 full days you will have time to see the most famous natural monuments, historical sights and places of power. The trip will be interesting even for those who have already visited Altai in the summer, because in the winter scenery familiar locations look completely different!
A park hotel surrounded by a pine forest, where you can relax in a calm and quiet environment. The spacious rooms are located in a cedar chalet: there is a lot of light and a pleasant aroma of wood. On the territory of the hotel there is an unusual park of wooden sculptures created as part of the Altai festival. Attraction" in 2018 and 2022.
A resort complex with a huge territory, a lot of entertainment and the highest level of comfort. Particularly suitable for family holidays - there is an excellent children's club, playgrounds and other activities. Adults will be able to enjoy attentive service, luxurious restaurants and bars, karaoke and billiards, as well as a luxurious spa and bath complex.
Five stars surrounded by cedar forest and mountain slopes, right on the banks of the Katun. Accommodation in cozy chalets made of Altai cedar or in classic spacious rooms. All accommodation options have panoramic windows, thanks to which you will feel truly unified with nature. The hotel complex also has a spa, steam rooms, a large indoor pool, and an authentic restaurant with an exquisite menu.
We meet at the airport of Gorno-Altaisk.
We go to “Kaimskoye” - a maral breeding farm. In addition to deer, you can see bison, horses and other animals on the farm. Here we will have breakfast (Russian cuisine) and try deer snacks. You will be able to walk through the picturesque area; the farm is located in a beautiful river valley, surrounded by mountain slopes. Afterwards we will visit Swan Lake, the only wintering place for swans in Siberia. Graceful snow-white birds on the surface of the water, in the frosty haze - a magical sight! Having taken many wonderful shots, we will check into the hotel in the afternoon. Free time can be devoted to relaxation or quiet walks.
On this day we will see Chemal - one of the main resorts of Altai, an ancient village with unique attractions.
We will visit the main ones: the Chemal hydroelectric station near the confluence of the Chemal and Katun, as well as the island of Patmos with a temple, to which a wooden suspension bridge leads. After lunch at the cafe we continue the self-guided tour. The second half of the day will be devoted to the main river of Altai - the incredibly impressive and powerful Katun. In winter, it does not freeze completely, and you can enjoy views of piercing turquoise water framed by ice and frost. We will make a stop at the “Dragon’s Teeth” - picturesque rocks protruding from the water.
The Chuya tract, along which we will travel today, is the most beautiful road in Russia and one of the most beautiful in the world, included in the rating of National Geographic magazine.
We will make stops in places of power, at archaeological sites, in interesting photogenic locations. And there are a lot of them here: the Seminsky Pass and the Chike-Taman Pass with an excellent observation deck, ancient petroglyphs and the stormy Ilgumensky rapids - one of the few rapids of the Middle Katun accessible for observation not far from the highway. On this day you will be able to walk through the forest, enjoy the cleanest frosty air and see how the landscape imperceptibly changes along the route and the mountains become higher and higher.
On the final day of the excursion program you will see Teletskoye, one of the deepest lakes in the country.
However, it is remarkable not only for its depth and size, but also for its inspiring beauty, which amazes at any time of the year. You will see ice sheets, taiga-covered shores, and mountain ranges melting into a bluish haze. We will take a cable car up Mount Kokkuya to contemplate this magnificent panorama from above. You can also have lunch here, or go down and visit the cafe at the foot of the mountain. On the way back from Lake Teletskoye to the hotel, we will stop in a village to visit the Tubalars - one of the indigenous peoples of Altai. You will learn about their traditions and way of life.
We say goodbye to Altai: after breakfast, transfer to the airport. We will be glad to see you again!
On this tour you can choose one of three accommodation options - from 3 to 5 stars. All hotels have comfortable rooms with private amenities.
We recommend the tour for children over 6 years old. Discounts are available for children under 12 years of age.
The tour price does not include lunches (if you chose the Podgorica recreation center) or lunches and dinners (Altai Palace and Grand Chalet Altai hotels). If you wish, you can also purchase souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones.
Average winter temperatures in Altai range from -12 to -23, but cold snaps and strong winds are also possible (especially on the passes). We recommend going on a trip in a ski suit - it is quite warm and windproof, but at the same time allows the body to breathe. Don't forget good winter shoes, mittens and a hat.
If you wish, you can stay in Altai after completing the excursion program: go to the ski slopes of Belokurikha or Manzherok, or relax in one of the Altai SPA resorts. We will be happy to help you with choosing accommodation and making reservations.
