From the Multinsky Lakes to Chulyshman: 13 Days in Altai, Where Everything is Planned.
We're the GO&DO team, and for 13 years, we've been creating trips for people that aren't found in any catalog. We love unusual itineraries, combine comfort and adventure, and, most importantly, listen to every client. With us, your vacation turns from a scheduled tour into a story written especially for you.
How does this work?
We'll share a specific example—a rich and engaging private tour to Altai . We've put together an itinerary for a three-generation family, where logistics run like clockwork: every day brings a new "wow" moment, each traveler finds their own pace, and the Altai nature remains the highlight, not the backdrop to a standard road trip.
Guest request
A family contacted us to spend their summer vacation in Altai. Important conditions:
— A packed program, exploring the most interesting and remote locations, without overexerting yourself.
— Comfortable accommodation: our guests are sophisticated and demanding tourists.
— Active and slightly extreme experiences are always welcome, from camping to rafting.
— A balance of interests for all generations, from grandmothers to teenagers.
The task is challenging, as Altai is a region of contrasts, with vast distances between key locations. But it's precisely these kinds of challenges that we enjoy: they showcase the power of GO&DO's personalized approach.
How we built the program
We proposed a route that combined a variety of formats: from easy walks and ethnographic museums to helicopter transfers and treks to remote mountain lakes. The family visited the Multinsky Lakes, the Chulyshman Valley, and Lake Teletskoye, admired the Uchar Waterfall, and rafted down the Katun River.
We put together a balanced program: nature, history, and an encounter with local traditions. The tour plan was also tailored to suit the older generation, parents, and children, ensuring a comfortable pace for everyone.
In a nutshell, the trip plan looked like this:
Day 1: Arrival in Gorno-Altaysk, accommodation at the Grand Chalet Altay 5*.
Day 2: Anokhin National Museum, Srostki village, and the Shukshin Museum.
Day 3: Chuysky Tract: crossing the Seminsky Pass, learning about national traditions in the Karakol Valley, and stopping at the Inegen agrocomplex.
Day 4: Helicopter to the Multinsky Lakes. Trekking in the wild and a tent camp (for grandmother, accommodation at the Altay Resort 5*).
Day 5: Continuation of the trekking route around the Multinsky Lakes, overnight in a tent.
Day 6: Return: trekking, a ride on swamp buggies, the beginning of the rafting trip on the Katun River, camp on the riverbank.
Day 7: End of the rafting, rest at the Altay Resort 5*.
Day 8: Departure from the camp by helicopter. A flight around Belukha Mountain, followed by a 90-minute stop in the mountains. Return to the hotel by helicopter. A sauna in the evening!
Day 9: Free day at the hotel.
Day 10: Lake Teletskoye: a boat ride, a visit to the village of Yaylyu, meeting locals, and a home-cooked lunch. Accommodation at Altay Village Teletskoe 5*.
Days 11-12: A separate excursion to the Chulyshman River Valley for parents: a boat ride to the southern shore of Lake Teletskoye, followed by a jeep tour, trekking, an overnight stay in tents, and a hike to Uchar Waterfall. For both children and adults, there's rest and walks in the Lake Teletskoye area.
Day 13: Transfer to the Gorno-Altaysk airport.
We've built on this "framework" with details, from precise timing to menus, to make everything look and feel perfect.
Comfort without compromise
Even in the most remote corner of Altai, you can travel in comfort, and we proved it. We booked the best hotels in the region for our family, and they turned out to be very diverse in character. From the ethnic Inegen complex, where you can truly feel the authenticity and spirit of Altai, to the five-star Altay Resort with European-level service and spa. And, of course, nights in tents under a mesmerizing starry sky! This combination gave the trip a richness: you could both soak up the atmosphere of the place and relax in absolute comfort.
Results
In 13 days, the family covered over 1,000 kilometers by land, sea, and air—and never felt tired. This is the essence of our travels: to see hard-to-reach places, to savor beauty and adventure, but always to return to comfort.
Guests returned inspired: the children recalled the helicopter and mountain trails, the grandmother remembered cozy evenings at the hotel, and the parents reminisced about seeing the many facets of Altai in one trip. This is the GO&DO philosophy: we don't offer "standard tours," we create unique stories that cannot be repeated. , a private tour to Altai became more than just a vacation, but a true adventure filled with meaning and beauty.
