The flowering of the maralnik (officially known as Rhododendron ledebourii
) is a magnificent sight, a reason many tourists travel to Altai. It blooms from mid-April to the end of May, and the season can vary depending on weather conditions.
To guarantee a spectacular view of the mountain slopes and banks of the Katun River in a scattering of delicate purple flowers, it's best to visit Altai in late April or early May. We have tours available for these dates!
