You can also look for inspiration from the endless Baikal, drive along the most beautiful road, see the turquoise ribbon of the river at the bottom of the Sulak Canyon in Dagestan, or conquer the Kola Peninsula on a snowmobile. Active or relaxing holiday, daring climbs or dog sled races - choose from dozens of activities or try everything at once!
Altai
Mountain region, which is famous for one of the most beautiful roads in the world - the Chuysky tract. Here the stormy Katun flows, turning into a unique turquoise color in spring and autumn, here the snow on the majestic Belukha never melts, and the waves of Lake Teletskoye gently rustle caress the shore. You can come here on an excursion tour, to a ski or spa resort, horseback riding or rafting.
Baikal
The deepest lake in the world. Baikal is beautiful in any season: in summer you can relax on the beaches in secluded bays, and in winter tourists come to see the famous pure Baikal ice with bizarre patterns of cracks and bubbles. And here you can make a wish on the sacred island and meet a real shaman.
Putorana Plateau
One of the most inaccessible places in Russia. You can only get to the plateau by water or by air; there is no communication and almost no people. Putorana is mountains without peaks, stormy waterfalls, winding canyons, dense taiga and 25 thousand large and small lakes! A visit to the plateau will be an amazing experience even for the most experienced travelers.
Kamchatka
Country of volcanoes, hills and geysers. In winter people come here for fantastic freeride, and in summer they explore the region on foot or from a helicopter. Khalaktyrsky beach with black sand, rocky Avacha Bay, alien landscapes of geyser fields, thermal springs and sea lion rookeries - all this is amazing Kamchatka.
Karelia
Karelia is called the land of lakes: there are more than 70 thousand lakes here! The region’s landscapes are striking in their beauty; even a short weekend trip fills you with harmony and tranquility. Be sure to visit the amazing Ruskeala mountain park, Lake Ladoga with its famous skerries, Akhvenkoski waterfalls with wooden bridges over the water and the charming town of Sortavala.
Kola Peninsula
The harsh but charming Arctic in all its glory. People come to Kola to hunt for the northern lights, admire majestic whales, or cross the snowy expanses on snowmobiles. One of the most famous villages here is Teriberka, depicted in the film “Leviathan”.
Dagestan
The name of the region translates as “Country of Mountains”. This region is full of contrasts: bright, noisy Makhachkala - and the mountain ghost village of Gamsutl, mountain peaks - and the largest canyon in Europe, Sulaksky, the stormy Tobot waterfall - and the calm surface of the Chirkey reservoir, on which you can ride on a speed boat.
Sakhalin
Here, on the edge of the earth, you can see the sunrise before anyone else in our country. Sakhalin is home to picturesque capes and quiet bays, delicious seafood delicacies and an incredibly rich fauna: here you can meet a bear, watch sea lions or a noisy bird colony. Secluded grottoes, steep cliffs, frozen lava fields...
