Baikal
Baikal is an unusual, sacred lake. It is a place of power, full of secrets and unexpected discoveries. The landscapes along its shores are varied and astonishing: here are endless forests, fields and steppes, majestic mountains, sandy beaches, shallow bays and inlets… The lake is approximately 25 million years old. For comparison, similar bodies of water average 15,000 years, while Baikal… seems eternal. The shores move apart at a rate of 2 centimeters per year, similar to the continents of Africa and South America.
More than 500 very small, unnavigable tributaries flow into Lake Baikal, and only the Angara River flows out unimpeded. Lake Baikal's water clarity is 40 meters: if you toss a coin into the lake, you can follow its fall throughout its entire journey.
Lake Baikal and its surroundings are beautiful at any time of year, and there's always something to do. On this trip, you'll see the legendary Olkhon and Ogoy Islands, Chivyrkuisky Bay, Peschanaya Bay, and other unique areas.
Season on Baikal: summer season from June 15 to October 15, winter season from February 1 to April 30.

Olkhon Island
This island is considered the largest of the 26 islands of Baikal, its area is 730 square km. The nature of Olkhon is as diverse as the landscapes around the entire huge lake. There are steppes, deciduous and fir forests, steep cliffs, bays and sandy beaches. The island is also famous for its history. People have lived on it since the Paleolithic era, and it is rightfully considered one of the most important centers of northern shamanism.
Peschanaya Bay
Hard to reach, yet one of Lake Baikal's most famous attractions, this beach boasts fine, pristine sand, located in a spot where the number of sunny days is comparable to that of the Black Sea. The highlight of this location are the stilted trees. The water washes away the sand, and the wind blows it away from under the trees, so their roots are located on the surface rather than in the ground.
Ogoy and Zamogoy Islands
Two islands located one after the other. Despite their proximity, Ogoy and Zamogoy are polar opposites in their energy. Ogoy, with its Buddhist stupa of enlightenment, has been uninhabited throughout its history. It is a place of power with stunning natural beauty. Zamogoy is considered a dark island by locals because it was once home to leprosy sufferers. It is rarely visited, but there is a chance of seeing Baikal seals (not guaranteed).
Aya Bay
One of the most picturesque bays of Lake Baikal - endless space, unearthly beauty... and a must-see on any trip! These fantastic landscapes will take your breath away: it’s not for nothing that the word “Aya” means “beautiful.” This is a masterpiece created by nature itself and remained untouched for many centuries. A hundred meters north of the bay there are rock paintings-petroglyphs that date back to the 3rd-5th centuries AD.
Circum-Baikal railway
The Railway is a monument of engineering: on a short section of 89 km, 424 engineering structures were erected, including 39 tunnels, 47 stone and 3 iron galleries. In terms of volume, timing, complexity and cost of work, this section had no equal among Russian railways. However, the Circum-Baikal Railway is not only engineering attractions, but also numerous natural monuments.
Snezhnaya River
One of the largest, full-flowing tributaries of Lake Baikal, with a unique landscape stretching along its banks. The river gets its name from its icy, crystal-clear water, which remains warm even during the hottest summer months: it originates under centuries-old snow on the peaks of the Khangarulsky Range. The gravel and sandy shoreline also offers excellent fishing: grayling, lenok, taimen, pike, and perch are found here.
Hamar-Daban
The Khamar-Daban mountain range is located in the Baikal region. We will see these majestic mountains in the Mamai River gorge. The power and beauty of nature here are stunning: you'll see mighty centuries-old cedars, enormous boulders cutting through lush moss and thickets of blooming bergenia, alpine meadows of various herbs... The tour program can include a trek along the right bank of the Mamai River to a clearing with a small bay where you can swim.
Tankhoy
The central estate of the Baikal Biosphere Reserve is located in the village of Tankhoy. This reserve is a vast scientific complex with extensive infrastructure and hiking trails leading to the valley of a mountain river running through a gorge in the Khamar-Daban Range. Visiting Tankhoy, we can stroll along the reserve's eco-trail and learn more about its history, which began in the 1960s.
Tazheran steppes
A unique natural complex that is very easy to miss during an independent trip to Lake Baikal - but not with us! These steppes are notable for their landscape: from sand dunes to relict spruce forests and salt lakes. Here you can also find shamanic shrines, mysterious petroglyphs and caves. Along the steppes along the coast of Lake Baikal there are many beautiful secluded bays.
Pribaikalsky Park
An ideal place to get acquainted with the fauna of Lake Baikal. The park maintains a population of wild animals: specialists care for young animals, treat sick animals and feed cubs left without parents. Animals come very close: this is a great chance to take beautiful shots of deer, wild boar, wild goat, yaks, chipmunks and birds, of which there are 303 species in the park.

Arrival at Baikal
You'll land at Irkutsk Airport. Your guide will meet you—the journey begins! From this moment on, you'll be surrounded by care and attention every minute. We'll help with your luggage and seat you in a comfortable business-class car.
The transfer to the hotel takes about two hours, during which you won't be bored. We can optionally stop at scenic spots and visit the open-air Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture. We'll also stop at an observation deck opposite Shaman Rock, which stands alone at the source of the Angara River.

Peschanaya Bay – Aya Bay
We'll visit two of Baikal's most picturesque bays: Peschanaya Bay, with its stilted trees and light sand, and Aya Bay, framed by hills and rocky cliffs.
During our visit to the first bay, we'll stop to enjoy the tranquil scenery and warm sunshine. A true beach vacation in an exotic location awaits you!
We'll reach Aya Bay in 2.5 hours on a comfortable speedboat. Here, we'll also have the opportunity to stop at the white marble cliff of Saagan-Zaba (if the waves are calm). If you wish, you can visit petroglyphs dating back to the 3rd-5th centuries AD.

Ogoy and Zamogoy Islands
We'll navigate the narrow strait between Olkhon and the mainland, known as the Small Olkhon Gate. We'll disembark on Ogoy Island and visit the Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment. This snow-white structure, crowned with a dome and spire, was built in 2005 and has become one of the most important symbols of Buddhism on Lake Baikal. Ogoy is also a nesting site for hundreds of herring gulls, which blend perfectly into this sacred landscape.
We'll also stop at the eerie Zamogoy Island, associated with many dark legends. Here, we have the chance to see seals.

We'll travel up the Snezhnaya River in hovercrafts. You'll see tranquil shallow backwaters and the mysterious taiga on the banks, crystal-clear icy water, and mountains on the horizon.
This day's program can be customized to suit your preferences. If you're a fishing enthusiast, we'll definitely arrange a grayling, lenok, and taimen hunt from the gravel and sandy shores of the Snezhnaya. For those who appreciate hiking through unspoiled nature, there's a trek to an eight-meter waterfall, whose spray creates a rainbow in the air, like diamond fragments cascading from a ledge. We'll also visit the Sobolinye Lakes, surrounded by centuries-old taiga. Fishing for black grayling is also possible here. We'll have a picnic on the lakeshore, preparing a fish soup made from the freshest fish.

In winter, the gentle slopes of the Mamai River valley attract numerous snowboarders and skiers, and we'll set off on a trek along the right bank. We'll first drive along a beautiful riverbed and then enter the protected area. This adventure is unlike visiting a zoo: we'll be up close to animals in their natural habitat. The animals are accustomed to the people who care for them, so we'll observe them up close, sometimes literally within arm's reach.

On quad bikes through the taiga
The taiga surrounds Lake Baikal, sometimes retreating, sometimes advancing right up to the shore. Let's get to know it better! The tour is led by an experienced instructor, with 1-2 people per ATV.
No one will return from this adventure unscathed: we'll storm mountain streams, overcome muddy patches, and ascend to a pass where we'll enjoy a spectacular panorama. Leaving our trusty iron horses behind, we'll embark on a short trek to the rocky Skriper cliff. It rises approximately 200 meters above Lake Baikal and is notable for its small cave, where traces of prehistoric human habitation have been discovered.
