Tour program of your choice

The Heart of Montenegro: From Cetinje to Kotor

One of the most comprehensive and engaging tourist routes through the country's main locations: in one day, you'll discover the country's culture, history, and diverse landscapes. The adventure begins with a stroll through Montenegro's second capital, the ancient city of Cetinje, surrounded by limestone mountains. Here, you'll see King Nikola's Palace and visit the Cetinje Monastery—one of Montenegro's most important Orthodox shrines, known as the "soul of the Balkan Peninsula." The monastery houses valuable relics: the right hand of John the Baptist, a fragment of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified, and the relics of St. Peter of Cetinje.

Our journey then takes us through the picturesque "Stone Sea" to the village of Njeguši, the birthplace of the Montenegrin ruling dynasty, where you'll immerse yourself in rural life and sample local delicacies. Njeguši enjoys a unique climate, a blend of continental and Mediterranean climates. Afterwards, we'll follow a breathtaking serpentine road to the Bay of Kotor and its main city, Kotor. It's a true open-air museum, with perfectly preserved fortress walls, cathedrals, palaces, and incredible panoramic views. The Kotor tour seamlessly transitions into a boat cruise around the bay. You'll see the unique man-made island of "Our Lady of the Rocks." One of the museum's main treasures is its unique 18th-century punto pitura embroidery.

Dukley Hotels & Resorts 5*

A luxurious five-star hotel with three private beaches and surrounded by blooming gardens. The beaches offer a variety of entertainment options, including a cocktail bar with snacks, a Caribbean restaurant, a seafood restaurant, and live music evenings. The hotel's interiors are decorated in a contemporary, elegant style.

Canyons and Black Lake

We're heading north, inland from the coast, to see Montenegro's main natural attractions! Our first stop is the Morača River Canyon, a vibrant emerald ribbon nestled between sheer cliffs covered in verdant vegetation. In the river valley, we'll also visit a 12th-century monastery with magnificent ancient frescoes. Our next stop is the second-deepest canyon in the world (the Grand Canyon in the USA holds the title). This is the Tara River Canyon, which you can explore and capture from several observation platforms during our stops. One of the main attractions here is the enormous Djurdjevic Bridge, whose arches stretch 170 meters high.

After lunch at the Tara Canyon, we drive to the high-mountain town of Žabljak and Durmitor National Park. This is where all the country's highest mountains are concentrated. Just 3 km from Žabljak lies a true gem, Black Lake. You can spend your free time (1 hour) at the lake as you wish: swimming, strolling along the shore surrounded by incredible scenery, or taking a boat ride. On the way back, we'll drive along another canyon (the Komarnica River) and dine at a restaurant serving traditional cuisine.

Continental Montenegro

Another interesting route for those who want to explore Montenegro beyond the coastal resort towns. In one day, we'll visit a national park, hike by a glacial lake, photograph a huge arched bridge over a canyon, and see the country's main peaks.

Our first stop is Biogradska Gora National Park, home to a stunning primeval forest, one of only three miraculously preserved tropical forests in Europe. The park also encompasses mountain slopes and peaks, and at its entrance lies the beautiful Biogradsko Lake, a glacial lake. After a stroll through the park and along the lake, we'll head to the Tara River Canyon—the second largest in the world and incredibly picturesque. Here, we'll make a stop at the Đurđevića Bridge, an impressive five-arched structure reaching 170 meters in height. Our final destination is Mount Durmitor, arguably Montenegro's most beautiful peak, and Black Lake, so named because its waters are darkened by the mountain's shadow.

Forza Mare 5*

This boutique hotel boasts a superb location on the shores of the beautiful Bay of Kotor, in the quiet village of Dobrota, just 3 km from Kotor's Old Town. Guests can enjoy unique interiors inspired by different countries, a luxurious spa, and a private rocky beach with a pier and steps into the water. A heavenly and secluded atmosphere awaits.

Cruise along the Bay of Kotor

A unique southern fjord surrounded by mountains, with resort towns and villages dotted along its shores with their distinctive red roofs—the Bay of Kotor, or Boka Kotorska. The only way to fully appreciate the local scenery is from the water. From Tivat, we'll set off to explore the azure waters on a luxury yacht!

During this cruise, you'll explore all four bays of Boka Kotorska, visiting the unique man-made island of Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela) and the 17th-century church located on it. Of course, you'll want to take a swim in the inviting waters of the bay, so we'll make a stop in one of the most picturesque bays—don't forget your swimsuit! Finally, you'll see the town of Perast and the villages of Prčanj and Dobrota from the water. We'll dock in the ancient fortified town of Kotor, famous for its medieval architecture.

Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Montenegro

Impeccable style and service await you just 9 km from Montenegro's main airport at this first-class club-style hotel. It's a perfect choice for a romantic or family vacation. The hotel features a 100-meter private beach, a swimming pool, a gourmet restaurant, a bar, and a spa. The rooms are spacious, bright, comfortable, and very photogenic.

Skadar Lake and Rijeka Crnojevic

Montenegro's lakes are as beautiful as its coastline. A true gem is Lake Skadar, the largest in the Balkans, part of which lies in Albania. It attracts tourists with its beautiful views—deep blue water and green slopes—as well as the opportunity to visit the islands scattered across its surface, many of which house active monasteries and churches. Furthermore, it boasts a diverse fauna: over 250 species of birds and about 40 species of fish. The lake, which is a national park, is home to five ornithological reserves and two ichthyological reserves, which will appeal to nature lovers. We can arrange fishing trips for those interested, and if you don't want to catch your own fish, you can sample the freshest catch in restaurants in any of the towns along the lake.

After a boat ride on the lake and lunch, we'll visit one of the most fascinating of these towns, Rijeka Crnojevića. Situated in a tranquil bay, it's more of a miniature village than a town—only about 200 people live there permanently. Its atmosphere has earned Rijeka Crnojevića the nickname "Montenegrin Venice.".

Rafting

Montenegro offers plenty of activities for active travelers and adrenaline junkies! Rafting down a wild mountain river could be one of the highlights of your trip. Along the way to the starting point, you'll enjoy the views of Montenegrin nature: we'll travel along a picturesque mountain road, see the majestic Tara and Piva River canyons, and drive across a dam.

The rafting trip takes about 2.5 hours and is rated as a Category 2 difficulty, making it suitable even for inexperienced tourists. But that doesn't mean it's easy or boring: under the guidance of our experienced instructor, the raft will navigate turbulent rapids, battle the waves, and experience the powerful current of a wild mountain river. At the most interesting protected areas, we'll make stops for rest, swimming, and exploring natural landmarks, such as a forest waterfall. Lunch at a restaurant featuring traditional dishes is included at the end of the excursion.

Between the emerald waters of the Adriatic and lush green slopes, a premium vacation awaits, featuring a sandy beach, spa, exquisite restaurant, bar, and exceptional service. A wide range of accommodation options are available, from suites to apartments and villas.

Cetinje - Lovcen - Njegusi

A sightseeing tour option that includes an introduction to the country's history, a visit to a nature reserve, and a viewing platform from which Montenegro can be seen at a glance. Our first stop is the ancient city of Cetinje, built in the 15th century. Numerous architectural and cultural monuments have been preserved here, the most important of which is, perhaps, the Cetinje Monastery, home to Christian relics, including a fragment of the cross on which Christ was crucified.

After a stroll through Cetinje, we'll head to the Lovćen Nature Reserve, located at the foot of the mountain of the same name. The air here is considered healing, and the natural beauty is complemented by man-made masterpieces of great historical and cultural significance—for example, the mausoleum of the sovereign and poet Petar II Petrović-Njegoš at the summit of Lovćen itself. From here, a breathtaking panoramic view opens up, literally across all of Montenegro. To conclude the day, we'll visit the village of Njeguši, the birthplace of Petar II himself. Here, in addition to experiencing history, you'll taste local delicacies, including pršut (smoked pork ham).

Ostrog and Podgorica

Along picturesque Lake Skadar, we travel to a unique monastery carved directly into Mount Ostrog. The monastery's snow-white walls, rising from the rock, have become one of Montenegro's symbols, a "postcard sight," easily recognizable and stunning for its combination of majestic nature and man-made wonder. Thousands of pilgrims flock here every year, many seeking healing from the relics of St. Basil of Ostrog .

The monastery is visited by people of all faiths, and even non-religious tourists will find Ostrog fascinating: it is an unusual and majestic structure. Although much of it was destroyed by fire in the early 20th century, two ancient churches and ancient frescoes remain. Later in the day, we will visit another of Montenegro's most important Christian sites—the capital's cathedral, a unique and harmonious blend of styles found in other religious buildings across the country.

Seaside resorts of Montenegro

Montenegro, a relatively small country, boasts a remarkable concentration of seaside resorts. Each town and village is unique in its own way, and we can tailor a vacation to suit any traveler's needs—from secluded and quiet to active and luxurious! Or perhaps you don't want to choose just one—we can organize visits to several resorts with distinct atmospheres.

Those who want to enjoy a well-developed infrastructure while exploring cultural and historical heritage should consider Budva, Bar, or Bečići. All three cities offer numerous opportunities for active recreation, from hiking and cycling excursions in the surrounding area to sailing and diving. Petrovac offers a more relaxed and tranquil atmosphere, as well as unrivaled natural beauty. The combination of culture, history, and stunning views, rich flora and fauna, is the hallmark of Herceg Novi. Exclusive relaxation was once available on the islet of Sveti Stefan, which has been entirely converted into a luxury hotel complex with apartments. The island is currently temporarily closed, but the nearby village of Miločer boasts a royal residence and 18 hectares of the most luxurious Montenegrin beaches! Find your ideal Montenegrin resort and spend the best days of your vacation there!

One & Only Portonovi 5*

Accommodation options include standard rooms, suites, and villas. In addition to luxurious interiors, guests can enjoy a spa, restaurant, swimming pools, and a wide range of activities.

Gastronomic Montenegro

Montenegrin cuisine, like the country's entire culture, is a unique blend of influences. In the coastal regions, Mediterranean cuisine, with its abundance of fish and seafood, is predictably popular, while in the mountainous interior, hearty meat and dairy dishes predominate. And, most importantly, all the food here is truly healthy and nutritious. During our trip, you'll have the opportunity to experience both variations of national cuisine.

We'll definitely arrange a tasting of Montenegrin specialties for you. In the village of Njeguši, you'll try the famous meat delicacy, Njeguški pršut (Njeguši pršut)—smoked or cured pork ham. On the coast, you'll enjoy aromatic fish soup, risotto, and a variety of grilled dishes. We also recommend trying the rich čorba soup, the legendary sač lamb, and witnessing the spectacular preparation of a huge pljeskavica cutlet. No trip would be complete without sampling Montenegrin cheeses and the indigenous wines of Vranac and Krstač—one of the country's signature dishes.
