Wine tourism is well developed on the Black Sea coast and there is no shortage of wineries. But the most interesting to visit, in our opinion, are the legendary Abrau-Durso factory, which gained its fame back in tsarist times, and Gai-Kodzor: here, perhaps, the best terroir and an atmospheric Italian-style chateau, with an incredible story that you can hear only for tasting.
The Abrau-Durso plant was founded in 1870, and over a century and a half has become the largest exporter of Russian wines. However, not only sparkling wine is produced here, but also still wines, cider, and strong alcoholic drinks. A visit to Abrau-Durso is a touch of a legend. The vineyards of Gai Kodzor are located in an incredibly picturesque place, and the central chateau of the winery deserves special mention: it seems that you are in Italy with its indescribable atmosphere. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was in Gai-Kodzor that French varieties that had not previously been grown in Russia were brought for the first time: Grenache, Malbec, Viognier and others.

Helicopter ride – Lake Kardyvach
We go to the sources of the Mzymta River - to the high-mountain lake Kardyvach, the largest in the region. This is a hard-to-reach attraction, to which walking tours lead: from the disembarkation point from a prepared car, tourists will have to overcome 18 km along a difficult route. But we will get to the lake by air, having time to enjoy amazing views of forests, mountain rivers and alpine meadows from above.
We fly from the “Mountain Olympic Village” to Rosa Khutor.
We will land at the lake and take a walk (40 minutes). Kardyvach is crystal clear water, which gives off mountain coolness in any weather. Depending on the time of year, it changes color: azure in the fall, emerald green in the spring. From the shore you can see every stone at the bottom, the lake is so transparent, and the calm surface of the water reflects the mountain peaks and forest. It’s hard to believe that this pearl of nature is located in the southernmost region of Russia: the landscapes are more reminiscent of Alaska or Tibet. Flight duration in both directions is 40 minutes.

to the Bermamyt Plateau with views of Mount Elbrus
Another hard-to-reach attraction, which we can comfortably reach on the new AS350 B3 helicopter from the Eurocopter Group. The adventure starts at the “Mountain Olympic Village” (Rosa Khutor). Along the way, we will fly around the Aishkho ridge and see the picturesque peaks of Loyub-Tsuhe and Loyub, on the slopes of which beautiful mountain lakes lie. We will have a view of Mount Marble, the Akargvarata mountain range. The accompanying guide will tell you in detail about each of the peaks, about the legends and stories associated with them. The helicopter will overcome the Main Caucasus Range and land on the Barmamyt plateau.
Here, at an altitude of 2643 m above sea level, surrounded by bizarre columns, asymmetry of slopes, dizzying gorges, an incredible spectacle lies before us - Mount Elbrus, located just 30 km away and perfectly visible from this natural observation deck.

Polikarya Waterfall
One of the highest waterfalls in the South of Russia with an unusual name, which is translated from Greek as “Bogatyr”. The second name, more prosaic, is “Pants”, because two separating streams falling from a height of 70 meters resemble this particular item of clothing.
Polikarya is fed by melting snow and precipitation falling on the Aibga ridge. It is most powerful in late spring and early summer, but at other times there is something to see here. The trail leading to the waterfall is an incredible experience in itself and a picturesque photo tour, where literally every step is heart-stopping with admiration. We will walk through a relict broad-leaved forest along an easy route that will take 15-20 minutes and is accessible even to people with minimal physical fitness. The eco-trail is fully equipped with comfortable steps and benches, and along the way we will enjoy panoramic views of the Main Caucasus Range. A cable car will take us to the beginning of the trail.

Hike to the Bzerpinsky cornice
For lovers of hiking, we suggest going on a short hike along one of the most popular routes in the region. This tour can take from one to five days: it all depends on your physical fitness and wishes.
We start from Alpika, the first ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana. Our path will run through fir forests that breathe mystery, like an illustration to a fairy tale. Forest paths lead to alpine meadows, drowning in fragrant herbs, and again dive under the arches of trees. At the Bear Gate tract you can relax on a wonderful observation deck. Having reached the destination of the trip - the Bzerpinsky cornice at an altitude of about 2100 meters - you will be amazed by the tranquil beauty of this place. The cornice, formed as a result of the melting of the glacier, ends with a dizzying rocky cliff, from which we will see the valley of the Laura River. If desired, from here we can walk to Mount Tabunnaya and enjoy the panorama of the gorge formed by the Mzymta River. In good weather, Krasnaya Polyana and even the Black Sea are perfectly visible from here!

The adrenaline is off the charts, incredible views of the Akhshtyr Gorge open up to your eyes... This is Skypark, one of the most interesting and unusual objects in Sochi. What to do here? Walk along the unique suspension bridge connecting the two edges of the gorge, and from a two-hundred-meter height see the Colchis forests, the seashore and the ridges of the Caucasus mountains. Soar to the skies on the world's tallest swing, SochiSwing, and take incredibly beautiful pictures. Bungee jump from a height of 69 or 207 meters. Take flight at speeds of up to 60 km/h on the Zipline attraction. Feel like a climber on the Via Ferrata route...
Even if you are not an extreme sports fan, a visit to Skypark will remain one of the most memorable experiences of your trip thanks to the panoramic views, lively atmosphere and, of course, the famous Kauri restaurant with a very interesting menu.

Finding yourself in the White Rocks Canyon, it’s hard to believe that this cozy corner of untouched nature, turquoise water, snow-white stones covered with emerald moss, and tree branches leaning towards the stream are really in the south of Russia, and not in a lost corner somewhere in the Southeast Asia. We also suggest visiting the picturesque waterfalls in the vicinity of Sochi. Azhek is located on the territory of an eco-park, surrounded by beech and boxwood forests, orchards and secluded canyons. Zmeykovsky waterfalls are a stunning cascade in the Sochi National Park. Each of the waterfalls here is beautiful in its own way; an easy hiking route to them runs along the stream in the cool shade of the trees. You can take a swim.
