Tour program of your choice

The Adventure Begins: Colombo and the Ancient Fort

Your journey begins in Colombo, the de facto capital and main transportation hub of Sri Lanka. A personal guide will meet you at the international airport. If you wish, we can take the time to get to know Colombo and arrange a sightseeing tour of this vibrant city. There's plenty to see here, including Buddhist temples, parks, the bustling Pettah shopping district, and the picturesque Galle Face Green promenade, with its unique colonial atmosphere.

After exploring Colombo or straight from the airport, we suggest heading to Galla Fort—a historical gem where European heritage and Asian flair intertwine. Founded by the Portuguese in the 16th century and fortified by the Dutch, this fort has withstood storms and wars for centuries. Today, you can stroll along cobbled streets, browse cozy antique shops, and admire the magnificent ocean views from the bastions, which preserve the spirit of bygone eras. To conclude this exciting day, we'll head to Yala National Park, where you'll check into a comfortable hotel, dine, and relax in anticipation of new adventures and experiences.

Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Yala

Situated on the edge of Yala National Park, Wild Coast Tented Lodge offers a unique blend of luxury and wilderness. Guests are accommodated in 28 cocoon-like tents, designed in harmony with the surrounding landscape, overlooking the ocean and jungle. The hotel has received a UNESCO design award and is part of the Relais & Châteaux family.

Safari in the National Park and the Legendary Bridge

Early in the morning, before dawn, we'll depart for Yala National Park, the island's most visited nature reserve. It's home to over two hundred species of birds and numerous rare mammals, including the world's largest leopard population. The animals are especially active in the morning, and you'll have the chance to spot wild elephants, spotted predators lurking in the undergrowth, and graceful deer peacefully strolling to watering holes. If you wish, you can stay at a luxury hotel near Yala and dedicate a few days to exploring the park with rangers.

If you decide to venture further, we'll explore the island's mountainous interior! Near the town of Ella, we'll take an easy trek to Little Adam's Peak, offering picturesque views of emerald tea plantations, waterfalls, and rice terraces. Here you can take a short break, enjoying the peace and quiet and the fresh mountain air. Another iconic landmark of this region is the Nine Arch Bridge. This elegant, 300-meter-long stone viaduct is still in use, and if you're lucky, you might even see a bright blue train slowly gliding across it. Along the way, we'll also stop at Ravana Falls, one of the most beautiful on the island. In the evening, we'll arrive in Nuwara Eliya, where you'll check into your hotel and have dinner.

Waterfall, tea plantations and cultural show

Your day begins with a morning stroll through Nuwara Eliya, a haven of colonial architecture in the heart of the tropics. You'll see the main local landmark, the Tudor-style post office built in the late 19th century, and appreciate the unique atmosphere of "Little England." You'll have the opportunity to sample the city's famous delicacies, such as juicy strawberries and potato spirals. Afterwards, we'll head to Gregory Reservoir, an artificial lake created in 1873. The location is perfect for a relaxing break and enjoying nature, where you can snack on fruit and admire the surroundings.

Our next stop is Ramboda Falls. The water cascades from a height of 108 meters, and the backdrop for this magnificent spectacle is lush tropical vegetation. Here you can stop to enjoy the natural scenery, take a dip in the natural pool at the base, and, if desired, enjoy a picnic. We'll then head to a tea factory, where you can sample authentic Ceylon tea, the country's main export. Finally, you'll enjoy a tour of Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. You'll visit the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a stroll along the lakefront, surrounded by centuries-old trees. The day will conclude with a vibrant cultural show featuring traditional dances and vibrant rhythms.

Ceylon Tea Trails, Hatton

A unique collection of five restored colonial tea plantation-era bungalows nestled in the picturesque mountains of Sri Lanka. Each bungalow offers four to six luxurious rooms, as well as elegant living and dining rooms. Guests can enjoy strolls through the tea plantations and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of bygone elegance.

Elephant Orphanage, Gardens and Cave Temple

This day will offer an intimate exploration of Sri Lanka's natural and cultural heritage. Our route begins at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, just a few kilometers from Kandy. Renowned for its orchid collection, this garden is the perfect place to stroll and immerse yourself in the island's exotic flora. From one garden, we'll move on to another, even more exotic: a stroll through the Spice Garden in Matale, where the aromas of fiery pepper, spicy cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg waft through the air. You'll learn the secrets of producing these exotic products, which have attracted merchants from around the world for centuries, and you'll have the opportunity to purchase the freshest spices.

Next, a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a true discovery for animal lovers. They care for abandoned and injured elephants and are working to restore the population of these majestic animals. You'll have the opportunity to watch the elephants being fed and bathed. Those who prefer a more active holiday can opt for an elephant ride through the jungle. The day concludes with a climb to the Dambulla Cave Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a complex of caves containing over 150 Buddha statues, ranging from giant to miniature. A sacred site for Buddhists, a visit will fill the day with spiritual meaning and harmony. In the evening, arrival at your new hotel, check-in, and relaxation await.
