Tour program of your choice
The beginning of adventure: Colombo and ancient fort
Your journey begins in Colombo-the actual capital and the main transport hub of Sri Lanka. At the international airport you will be met by a personal guide. If you want, we can devote time to acquaintance with Colombo and organize a sightseeing tour of this dynamic city for you. There is something to see: for example, Buddhist churches, a park ensemble, a lively trading quarter of Petta and a picturesque embankment of a gallery-feature Green with a unique atmosphere of the colonial past.
After inspection of Colombo or immediately from the airport, we offer to go to the fort Gall - this is a historical pearl, where the European heritage and Asian flavor have intertwined. Founded by the Portuguese in the 16th century and strengthened by the Dutch, this fort for centuries opposed the storms and wars. Today you can walk along the prayer streets, look into cozy antique shops and admire magnificent views of the ocean from bastions that have preserved the spirit of past eras. At the end of the full emotions of the day, we will go to the National Reserve Yala, where you will fit in a comfortable hotel, have dinner and can relax in anticipation of new adventures and impressions.
Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Yala
Located on the border of the National Park Yala, Wild Coast Tented Lodge offers a unique combination of luxury and wild. Guests are placed in 28 cocoons-strains designed in harmony with the surrounding landscape, with a view of the ocean and jungle. The hotel received the UNESCO award for design and is part of Relais & Châteaux.
Safari in the National Park and the legendary bridge
In the early morning, even before dawn, we will be waiting for a departure from the Yala National Park - the most visited reserve of the island. More than two hundred species of birds and many rare mammals live here, including the world's largest population of leopards. In the morning, animals are especially active, and you will have the opportunity to see wild elephants that hid in the thickets of spotted predators and graceful deer, peacefully raving towards watering. If you wish, you can linger in a luxurious hotel near Yala to devote to the park for several days, studying it accompanied by rangers.
If you decide to go further, then we will go to explore the mountainous part of the island! In the vicinity of the town of Ella, we will perform a simple tracking on the small peak of Adam, from where picturesque views of emerald plantations of tea, waterfalls and rice terraces open. Here you can make a small break, enjoying silence and clean mountain air. Another symbolic attraction of this region is the nine -diarrhea bridge. An elegant stone viaduct with a length of 300 meters is still used for its intended purpose, and if you are lucky, you can see how a bright blue train is moving slowly. Along the way, we will also make a stop at the Ravana waterfall, one of the most beautiful on the island. By evening, we will arrive in Nuvara Eliya, where you settled in the hotel and have dinner.
Waterfall, tea plantations and cultural shows
Your day begins with a morning walk along Nuvara Eliya-an island of colonial architecture in the heart of the tropics. You will see the main local attraction - the post office built in the style of the Tudors at the end of the 19th century, and evaluate the unique atmosphere of “little England”. You will have the opportunity to taste the delicacies that the city is famous for - juicy strawberries and potato spirals. After that, our path lies with the Gregory reservoir - an artificial lake created in 1873. The location is perfect for a relaxing rest and enjoyment of nature, here you can have a bite to eat fruits and admire the surroundings.
The next stop is the Ramboda waterfall. The water collapses with a height of 108 meters with several cascades, and a magnificent tropical vegetation is a background for this magnificent sight. Here you can make a stop to enjoy nature, swim in the natural pool at the foot, and, if you want, arrange a picnic. Then we will go to the tea factory, where you can try real Ceylon tea, which is the main export product of the country. At the end of the day you will find a tour of Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. You will visit the famous Temple of the Buddha tooth and enjoy a walk along the lake embankment, surrounded by centuries -old trees. A bright cultural show with traditional dances and incendiary rhythms will complete the day.
