WINTER Türkiye – SKIING AND RICH HISTORY
Turkish ski resorts are an excellent choice for beginner skiers or snowboarders, but experienced athletes can also enjoy their holidays here. Local routes are not inferior to the Alpine ones either in extremeness or in terms of service and developed infrastructure, and the prices are much more affordable. Add to this the impressive mountain scenery and charming Turkish flavor - and you have the formula for the perfect winter holiday!
What is important to know about ski Turkey:
- Feel free to book for a family vacation! The infrastructure provides entertainment for all ages, and many trails are suitable for training the youngest athletes.
- The all-inclusive system for which beach hotels in Turkey are famous also works in many ski hotels. Some of them operate on a “half board plus” or “full board plus” system.
- Many hotels are located directly next to the ski lifts and operate on a ski-in/ski-out system. Some hotels have their own ski lifts and slopes, which are free for guests.
- Don't want to bring your own equipment? No problem - the rental infrastructure here is well developed! The hotels also operate ski schools.
- Russians do not need a visa to visit Turkey; they can plan their trip without additional hassle with documents.
Season: The ski season lasts from late December to March. During this period, the temperature on the slopes reaches -10°C, at the foot of the mountains -5°C.
You are just a few steps away from your dream trip!

Cappadocia
The legendary Cappadocia is just an hour's drive from Erciyes. The calling card of Cappadocia, known throughout the world, is the amazing rocks of bizarre, bewitching shapes and bright hot air balloons on which you can fly around the surrounding area. But that’s not all!
Cappadocia is also home to ancient caves, early Christian monasteries, and authentic local cuisine. A trip here is like immersing yourself in a special, unusual world, living according to centuries-old traditions. Houses carved into the rocks, endless fields and vineyards, which local residents tend by hand - this is not a picture to attract tourists, but real life in these amazing lands.
Cappadocia will impress not only those who are interested in history and architecture, but also those who appreciate natural beauty. The local geological structure is unique: as a result of the erosion of porous rock and the action of flood waters, extraordinary chimneys have naturally formed here. People took advantage of them and began using them for their own homes and churches.

Hot Air Balloon Flight
It's impossible to visit Cappadocia without taking a hot air balloon ride! To do this, it is not at all necessary to visit this resort in the summer. Ascent by balloon is possible at any time of the year and requires only suitable weather conditions (good visibility and absence of strong wind). And the views that will open up to you from above during a winter flight are perhaps even more impressive than the summer landscapes!
Bizarre slopes of sand-colored rocks, valleys hidden by a snow-white blanket of snow... From the basket of a hot air balloon you will see a fabulous landscape stretching to the horizon. Against the backdrop of snow-covered slopes, bright balls soaring into the sky look especially beautiful.
Of course, there is something to do here besides flying: go on an excursion to the Valley of the Monks or go on a horseback ride, and in the evening go to the hammam or sit in a cafe, warming up with aromatic tea or coffee, watching the bright street outside the window.

Kayseri
Kayseri is a beautiful city at the foot of the mountain. It is at Kayseri Airport that you will fly if you want to relax at the local ski resort.
The city has a rich history: back in the 4th millennium BC, these places were inhabited and played an important role in international trade, because Kayseri was located at the crossroads of the famous Silk Road. At different periods it was inhabited by numerous peoples: from the Assyrians to the Romans, from the Byzantines to the Mongols. A rich historical heritage, which preserves traces of many cultures, coexists with the charm of the Turkish province. And at the same time, it is an excellent destination for shopping (as it was many centuries ago ;-)).
The Hunat Khatun complex consists of a mosque, a madrasah and a hammam. It was erected in 1246 in memory of the wife of the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin, whose name was Mahperi Khatun. Monumental architecture, dark stone, low arches, a museum and lively shopping stalls - a visit here will be educational and interesting.
The Citadel (Kayseri Kalesi) is the city's most famous landmark. The fortress made of dark volcanic stone has preserved traces of many eras and peoples. Construction began in the 6th century under the Byzantine emperor, and then the citadel was expanded and completed in 1224 by the Seljuk Sultan.

Erzurum
The closest city to the resort (distance - only 4 kilometers) with a rich and fascinating history. Its name comes from a Persian phrase that means "the border of Rome." The history of Erzurum began in the 4th century, when it was called Theodosiopolis. Over the centuries, the city has had many owners: it was owned by Byzantium, the Ottoman Empire, Armenia and even Russia. Alexander Pushkin, who visited it in 1829, mentioned Erzurum (Arzurum) in his travel notes.
The city has preserved buildings from different eras, which are of great interest to connoisseurs of history, culture and architecture. Among them are an unusual madrasah (theological school) with a double minaret, an impressive citadel built in the 5th century (be sure to enjoy a beautiful view of the city!), the Ulu Mosque, and an ethnographic museum.

For many centuries, Trabzon was the largest commercial center. a crossroads of many trade routes, including the Silk Road. The result of this role of the city is an eclectic atmosphere: it is woven from dozens of cultures and religions. Here you can visit the cathedral-museum, mosques, Catholic and Byzantine churches.
